Venture Out #332 Lagoon Lane W/ Golf Cart

I am compelled to share this experience to warn future renters about the serious issues we encountered during our stay. Safety Concerns • Electrical hazards: the golf cart was plugged into a melted outlet with a melted extension cord and wouldn’t stay charged. Replacement cart had rotting wood hanging off seat that caused injury, scratching my leg and drawing blood; back seat was completely unusable • Faulty shower door: Door fell when child was showering and when the owner came to inspect it, he left the wheel that had fallen off completely off and simply put the door back on track, instructing us to “only touch one door” - creating an ongoing safety hazard Infrastructure Problems • Power/internet outages: Continuous light flickering and internet outages throughout our entire stay • Non-functional appliances: Garbage disposal didn’t work, microwave malfunctioned • Poor maintenance: Multiple items (remotes, vacuum) held together with tape Cleanliness and Accuracy Issues • Misrepresented condition: House was not “newly updated with new paint and more!” as advertised • Subpar cleaning: Overall cleanliness was well below acceptable standards. Bathroom rugs were nasty, walls and furniture dirty, just to name a few Unprofessional Management Practices • Makeshift repairs: Contractor removed covers from other units to patch our electrical box and told us it needed to “dry out” so the lights would stop flickering- clearly not a proper solution • Disruptive service: Maintenance visits left the property smelling of cigarettes Overall Experience This rental fell far short of basic safety and quality standards. While management was responsive to our calls and did provide a $100 refund, this compensation was inadequate given the numerous serious issues we encountered. The owner’s repeated excuse that he “only rents one month out of the year” does not excuse the poor condition of the property - paying guests deserve quality accommodations regardless of how often the owner chooses to rent. The combination of safety hazards, non-functional amenities, and makeshift repairs made for an extremely disappointing vacation. I hope this review helps other travelers make informed decisions and encourages the property owners to address these serious issues before renting to future guests.

We enjoyed our time here. The beach was beautiful, it was great having a golf cart to get around and to the beach. It was hard only having one golf cart with 5 people and beach supplies. The house was comfortable, the bed in the main room was not comfortable and the pillows were pitiful (bring your own). The toilets are super low, the shower door in the main didn’t open smoothly. The microwave had issues. Family pictures scattered throughout (which felt weird). It was clean and the space was nice. It worked for our family vacation. Loved the property of venture out and what it offered. Our boys thought it was a lot of fun and didn’t have any complaints.
